With the upcoming release of The Thousand Noble Musketeers: Rhodoknight, it marks a fresh start for the series which saw you collect a wide variety of antique firearms who are also cute boys of all flavours. The original game had ended service in 2019 after just about a year since launch, so the cast are basically reprising their role in this updated release. As you might expect, it’s geared to the female audience, or at least, those who are interested in a large cast of men. There was an anime of the game as well.
One of the closest comparisons you can make for this genre would be Touken Ranbu, where the protagonist is able to amass and train various historical Japanese swords instead. This one has been successful enough to see an official localization, branching out to multimedia including anime and live action adaptations and soon to be console game spin-off.
We’ll see if the Rhodoknight refresh will be able to attract more attention to see more worldwide attention.
