Pokemon and the popular virtual singer Hatsune Miku will be joining forces in a collaboration called Project VOLTAGE featuring a handful of new songs.
Project VOLTAGE will see both these popular franchises team up to release 18 different new songs and music videos releasing starting in September, with new art to accompany the releases. The announcement visual had been revealed, which features the twin tailed diva holding a Pokeball while accompanied with Farfetch’d and the iconic yellow electric mouse mascot.
This announcement visual was drawn by none other than, KEI, the original artist of Hatsune Miku.
The collaboration’s 18 song count refers to the 18 different types of Pokemon. Starting from 4th September, the project’s Twitter account will release a series of 18 illustrations, which sees Hatsune Miku as a Pokemon trainer paired with partner Pokemon of different typings. A total of six illustrators will be involved in this collaboration project.
The special illustrations will release till 28th September and starting on the next day 29th September, the project will then begin releasing new songs and music videos done by 18 Vocaloid producers. These songs are said to use various samples from the video game series’ music, which themes focusing from battles to friendships to cherished memories and will be released on the producer’s respective YouTube channels.
