With Neco Arc making her Melty Blood Type Lumina debut today, one group has launched a Neco Arc only tournament, accepting global entrants.
Titled the Nyauntlet and hosted by PlusFrames, this tournament has simple rules: you play as Neco Arc and fight your way through a single elimination bracket to be the last cat standing.
To add to the hyper competitiveness that comes with being a Neco Arc main, the payout will only be given to the true victor- only the top 1 in the tournament will see any money for their efforts.
However, creative players will also see some cash, as the organizers are also awarding cash prizes for fans who submit creative tech involving the chaotic cat creature.
It should be noted that there will be tournaments for both PC and PS4, so even more players can get in and embrace the random item character.
Neco Arc is a huge fan favorite character in the Melty Blood series, having originally appeared in the bad ends for Tsukihime before also being a huge part of Carnival Phantasm, a gag anime featuring Tsukihime and Fate characters.
The idea of the tournament even explicitly declaring that wifi was acceptable (something not usually the case for stability reasons) is a good example of just how much fun they’re having with this- a chaotic, messy tournament of players disconnecting and teleporting all over the screen is incredibly on-brand for the character.
The same was even echoed by streamer and fellow Melty Blood player Jiyuna, who jokingly accused Neco Arc players of exactly this behavior when the character was announced .
