The Xbox 20th Anniversary event has given us our first glimpse at the long-awaited Halo TV Series that will premiere on Paramount Plus in 2022.
The Anniversary event gave us a very short teaser trailer of the series, showing Master Chief, played by Pablo Schreiber (American Gods) slipping on his iconic armor and helmet.

The Halo TV series has been a long time coming with the series being announced all the way back at the launch of the Xbox One in 2013 with Steven Speilburg attached to produce it.
Unfortunately, the show would have years of development trouble. This would lead to it moving from Speilburg to Rupert Wyatt and eventually its current producer and director Otto Bathurst, who had previously worked on highly acclaimed British TV shows, Peaky Blinders, and His Dark Materials.
The plot of the series will be based around the general conflict of the first three games, regarding the Earth’s United Nations Space Command fighting against the alien faction known as the Covenant. The series will not be a one-to-one adaption of the games but rather will be using the general outline of the premise to create its own interpretation of Halo, bringing in characters from across the series.
As well as Master Chief, here are the other characters that have been cast to appear in the series:
- Pablo Schreiber as Master Chief
- Jen Taylor as Cortana
- Jen Taylor as Dr. Catherine Halsey
- Yerin Ha as Kwan Ha
- Charlie Murphy as Makee
- Shabana Azmi as Admiral Margaret Parangosky
- Bokeem Woodbine as Soren-066
- Olive Gray as Miranda Keyes
- Kate Kennedy as Kai-125
- Natasha Culzac as Riz-028
- Bentley Kalu as Vannak-134
- Danny Sapani as Captain Jacob Keyes
The Halo series will premier on Paramount’s new streaming service Paramount Plus in 2022, not long after we’ll see Master Chief return to gaming with Halo Infinite on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC on December 8th.
