The Light of the Darkness, an indie Metroidvania by Brazilian team QUARTOMUNDO has been nominated a spot in the Nordic Game Discovery Contest (NGDC) finals after winning its qualifier, the Dstars Connect Conference.
“We couldn’t be happier with Nordic Game for being accepted at the competition. The Light of The Darkness has been around for a while now, but after winning NGDC during DStars in Italy it is like we are really on the map of Indie Games.” says Fernando Rabello, CEO of QUARTOMUNDO. “We have been getting so much attention, there are so many good things happening to us… From an Indie Dev perspective NGDC is just an amazing initiative!”
The Light of the Darkness is a metroidvania game, inspired by the team’s love for Castlevania as well as the Legacy of Kain series. You play as the world’s first Hybrid, with one demonic wing and one angelic wing. Like other Metroidvanias you’ll be thrown into a world full of rich original history and exploration.
According to QUARTOMUNDO, the game’s story was based off of popular fan theories for Legacy of Kain. While we don’t have full information regarding the game’s story, they have posted a 25-minute video showing off Alpha footage of the game. It’s available to Wishlist on Steam now, with a planned beta in future.
