Naughty Dog has announced that The Last of Us HBO series will premiere on January 15th, 2023 on HBO Max.
The announcement came from their official twitter with the headline “You have no idea what loss is” along with a reveal of the key visual for the series.
Similarly, HBO Max also tweeted out the same thing with the headline “To the edge of universe and back”.
The Last of Us is expected to last 10 episodes for its first season and is presumed to cover the story of the first The Last of Us.
For a brief synopsis of the first game, The Last of Us follows the smuggler Joel as he escorts the 14-year-old girl Ellie, across the United States in a post-apocalyptic world ridden with cannibalistic creatures known as the Infected.
The TV series is written and executive produced by Craig Mazin, whose past notable works include HBO’s Chernobyl, and Neil Druckmann, the co-president of Naughty Dog and Director of The Last of Us video game series.
Joining the casts of characters is The Mandalorian bounty hunter, Pedro Pascal who will be playing as Joel Miller. Bella Ramsey, known for her role as Lyanna Mormont in Game of Thrones will also appear in the series, playing Ellie
