Kumi Souls Games showed off a new trailer for The Last Faith, an upcoming 2d metroidvania for those seriously craving their next gothic fantasy hit.
The game is releasing on PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch and PC, though no fixed release date has been set.
Here’s the description of The Last Faith, courtesy of the game’s Steam Page:
Step into The Last Faith’s ravaged world as Eric, who awakens with no recollection of his immediate past. Soon he will discover he is in a race against time as his mind and conscience begins to deteriorate. His desire for salvation from this affliction sets him on a cursed mission that crosses paths with ancient religions and divinities.
The new trailer does show many of the game’s main pulls- such as its slick combat system, which lets you use a variety of weapons from swords to whips to even a good ol’ pistol.
On top of that your character also has access to a variety of magic spells- these range from icy summoned swords to even spectral hands to do big damage to the game’s variety of epic bosses.
Being a metroidvania, publisher Playstack promises The Last Faith will have plenty for fans of the genre- such as non-linear exploration, across the various zones in the game.
It’s pretty hard to ignore the game’s major influences- from its striking visual resemblance to titles like Blasphemous as well as the visual cues of games like Bloodborne.
