Known in Japan as “Popmas”, the game will be shutting down July 21, 2022. Like many other Japanese mobile games that have announced their termination of service, The Idolmaster Poplinks players can still use the game’s premium currency, Pop Jewels, until July 21. The cutoff date for purchasing new Pop Jewels is June 21, 2022.
Developed by Bandai Namco Entertainment, the game was released on January 21, 2021 in commemoration of the franchise’s 15th anniversary. It features characters from the original The Idolmaster, Cinderella Girls, Million Live, SideM and Shiny Colors. The game launched with 75 playable idols. However, the number has grown to over 170 in just over a year since it was first released. You can learn more about the game when we first covered it here.
In the notice of service termination, the dev team thanked players and offered their gratitude to those who tried out the game. Interestingly enough, new events will still be released until the game’s eventual shutdown.
