The acclaimed psychological horror walking simulator The Exit 8 just got a Nintendo Switch release and is available now via Nintendo eShop.
The Switch version of The Exit 8 is priced at $3.99, and published by PLAYISM.
For the uninitiated, The Exit 8 is a walking simulator by developer KOTAKE CREATE and has players walk through Japanese underground passageways with liminal spaces as its core theme.
The game has you walk through a similar space over and over again, but it is crucial to pay attention to any anomalies.
If any anomalies are spotted, players would need to turn back immediately or stuck in a loop, but if no anomalies are found, players can slowly proceed to go out from Exit 8.
Released in November of last year, the PC version quickly gained popularity, achieving over 500,000 downloads worldwide.
Despite its short length, its anomaly-spotting gameplay influenced other designers such as games like Everloop and Asemblance, effectively creating a new subgenre.
The developer KOTAKE CREATE is currently working on a sequel titled “Platform 8”, but instead of underground passageways, players are now trapped on a train.
As mentioned, The Exit 8 is now available on the Nintendo Switch via the Nintendo eShop.
