During the Ubisoft Division Day Stream, the newest addition to The Division franchise which is The Division Heartland had more details regarding it revealed.
Heartlands will take players to Silver Creek, once a pleasant town in the American Midwest which is left in ruins after the spread of the Dollar Flu. The area is a hostile environment that is filled with deadly contamination, numerous roaming enemies with a looming threat of sickness and dehydration.
The game will also introduce a shared space for the Base of Operations where players will be able to socialize, form a group, customize their character and prepare for the next Operation.
Sessions will start and end at the Base of Operations, and when players exfiltrate (end an Operation) they will return with materials and gear that they have collected to better prepare them for the next Operation. The Base of Operations will be used to fabricate supplies and prepare players for what’s waiting for them out in the town.
There are three Classes that were revealed, the Weapons Expert, Medic, and Survivalist all of which has a unique ability that complements the other Classes. During the day, players will need to scavenge supplies and prepare to survive come nightfall.
At night, Silver Creek becomes more hostile with PvEvP gameplay in full swing that forces players to think and work together as a team to make it out alive with the loot intact.
The team behind The Division Heartland has stated that they will be taking a test-and-learn approach to building this game, which has them continuously gather player feedback before moving on to the next phase. Players can register for future closed tests at the official website, and for those who were selected will receive five invites to share amongst friends.
