The Division 2 will be getting Season 9: Hidden Alliance on 12 May. This new content drop will include a new PVE mode, Countdown, which will highlight Title Update 15. This season will be available to all The Division 2: Warlords of New York owners as well.
Threats are a constant, and Season 9 continues The Division 2 narrative with agents returning to tie loose ends following their takedown of a former Division commander-turned-traitor. Captain Lewis will not let evil lie idle, and the Division must gather intel, face four high-ranking True Sons, before the head himself. Season 9 is one of three seasons scheduled to run throughout the year.
Countdown is a new, intense co-op mode where up to eight Division agents will have 15 minutes to stabilize a power plant and prevent a lockdown. In two teams of four, you’ll be starting in different locations and work together to overcome familiar foes to secure and extract before time runs out.
Other updates coming on 12 May include:
- Expertise: A new way to improve equipment with upgrades to base values, possible with use of any item in the game.
- Weapons and Gear: Includes the Heartbreaker gear set, new named items, and more, with additional rewards in the Season 9 Pass
- Twitch Drops: From 12 to 31 May, all streamers in the The Division 2 directory will be eligible for drops. Viewers can tune in to any stream during this period to get rewards such as a Legacy Cache, two High-End Caches and one Exotic Cache. Drops will occur after each hour (watch Division 2 streams for four hours to receive all Drops)
- Free Weekend: 13 to 15 May will be another free weekend for Xbox Series X | S, Xbox One, PS4, PS5, the Epic Games Store and Ubisoft Connect
