The Division 2 will be kicking off the ultimate manhunt when Warlords of New York, a narrative-driven expansion for the game, releases 3 March, 2020! It will be available on the Xbox One, Playstation 4, Windows PC and UPLAY+. Stadia will also receive both the game and its expansion when it launches later in March.
Current The Division 2 players can purchase the expansion separately, while new players can get the Standard Edition which will have the base game and Warlords of New York expansion. The Ultimate Edition will give the game, expansion and all of The Division 2‘s Year 1 content, classified assignments and unlocked specializations. Warlords requires all players to be at Level 30 and World Tier 5. As such, each edition of the game will provide a Level 30 boost for players to activate if they want to jump right in to the expansion! On completing the Warlords campaign, Agents can travel freely between Washington DC and New York City for the rest of The Division 2′s content.
Pre-purchasing the expansion will provide a free Level 30 boost for players to jumpstart their characters ahead of the expansion release.
Division Agents will go on the ultimate manhunt for Aaron Keener, a former Division Agent gone rogue. He and his network of Rogue Agents are threatening the burgeoning rebirth of civilization. Agents will need to roam the untamed living open world of Lower Manhattan to track down Keener. This former Dark Zone was recently hit by a devastating hurricane that hit New York City harder than anywhere else in the US. New zones, with iconic locations – Two Bridges, Chinatown, Wall Street – will be open for you to explore.
You’ll need to take down Keener’s Rogue Agents first before you get to him. Each of them have a unique back story and skill, the latter of which you gain when you take them down. Alongside Warlords, Title Update 8 will include:
- RPG Overhaul
- Better read and manage inventory
- UI updated to always show roll ranges for stats
- God rolls return to improve readability and help decision making
- Streamlined gear recalibration system
- Item and stat usefulness indicators
- Permanent attribute and stat storage at recalibration station
- Revitalized existing Dark Zones
- Return to simpler rogue mechanic
- Focus on rewarding player-to-player interaction either when against or with each other
- Return to simpler rogue mechanic
Player level cap will increase from 30 to 40 with Warlords. Infinite progression system will be introduced with it, with SHD level and 4 new skills that can be used throughout the game. Owning the expansion provides access to new gear and weapons.
That’s not all with The Division 2 Warlords of New York! A new post-launch philosophy will be introduced in Seasons: a 3-month-long themed endgame event with new main target and network to track down. They’ll be introduced at a regular pace, bringing their own stories and unique rewards. The first season begins one week after the expansion release.
Besides the Seasonal Manhunt, Seasons will also offer new in-game activities. Leagues are a series of challenges where players can unlock rewards based on their ability to complete them. Global Events return, where time-limited in-game events with global modifier applies to the entire game to obtain rewards by completing specific tasks. Grow your Season level for rewards by participating in the seasonal activities or just by playing the game. Get a Season Pass for even more goodies!
12 February onwards will open up Episode 3 – Coney Island: The Hunt for Year 1 pass holders. It will be 19 February for all players. This is the last episode of The Division 2‘s free Year 1 post-launch content plan, and serves as the prologue to Warlords. Two main missions, two classified assignments (for Year 1 pass holders), a new specialization “Firewall”, new rewards as part of the referral program, and new weapons and exotic weapon will be available in this Episode.
