Square Enix’s upcoming strategy RPG ‘The DioField Chronicle‘ currently has a free demo available for download on PS5, PS4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam.
In The DioField Chronicle demo, a total of five episodes from chapter one are available to play. Save data from the demo can be transferred to the full game once it releases on the 20th of September.
In the final episode of chapter one, episode five, the protagonist’s mercenary unit receives a request from Joshua, a member of the Lord’s Council and Archbishop of the “Granvell Church,” the widely adopted faith in the Kingdom of Alletain.
The mission is to escort him to the destination of his pilgrimage. Main character Andrias questions why the Granvell Church sent such a request to the mercenary unit despite having their own military arm “Templar Knights,” but undertook the mission nonetheless.
In the battles that the mercenary unit faces, “Upgrading” allows you to form strategies that are uniquely yours. The game also features a “Unit Rank” system that strengthens the whole mercenary unit, “Abilities” that strengthen characters, a “Skill Tree” that upgrades skills, “Magilumic Orb Research” that upgrades the Magilumic Orbs special attacks, and “Weapon Development” that upgrades weapons.
The DioField Chronicle will release on September 22nd for PS4, PS5, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
