After announcing its studio closure, it was discovered that The Day Before developer Fntastic seems to have changed its name to Eight Points for its survival game The Wild Eight.
According to an entry for The Wild Eight on SteamDB, there was a change of developer name from Fntastic to Eight Points.
The entry listed was on 11 December 2023, a day before Fntastic announced that they were closing doors through an official post on X (previously known as Twitter).
In the announcement, Fntastic noted that its closure was due to The Day Before failing financially after its early access launch.
“Unfortunately, The Day Before has failed financially, and we lack the funds to continue. All income received is being used to pay off debts to our partners,” said the company/
“We invested all our efforts, resources, and man-hours into the development of The Day Before, which was our first huge game.”
The future of The Day Before as well as Fntastic’s asymmetric multiplayer title Propnight is unknown, but the company noted that the servers will remain operational.
As of writing, The Day Before publisher Mytona has opened up to issue refunds for players with an apology saying, “We are sorry for the fact that the game didn’t meet the expectations of the majority of the players.”
