It’s been a hectic day for FNTASTIC and Mytona, as their title The Day Before has been delayed following its removal on Steam.
In a statement, they confirmed that The Day Before had to be pulled from Steam following trademark disputes over its name.
“Right before the release, Steam blocked our game page at the request of a private individual, because of the name “The Day Before.””, they said in a statement on Twitter.
“After the announcement of the game, the above mentioned individual filled out an application before us to register the game trademark “The Day Before” in the United States”, the statement continues.
Since the game cannot release until the trademark dispute is resolved, FNTASTIC and Mytona have delayed the game’s release to November 10th.
Fans had noticed the game’s Steam page had mysteriously disappeared today- not a good sign when your game is set to release on March 1st.
This unfortunately marks another chapter in the troubled history of Mytona’s The Day Before– while the game boasted being one of the most wishlisted titles on Steam, it was also quickly followed by the game’s developers sourcing “Volunteers” to help finish the game.
They said they had prepared a gameplay preview to show off soon, and might still do so after consulting with their legal team.
