This week on the Brave Room, things get, well, out of hand. What was supposed to be a look at Pokemon Unite turns into a deconstruction of Wan’s own dislike for MOBAs as a whole (all while praising Pokemon Unite for getting him to play as long as it did) .
Naturally, as all things do, Wan makes the comparison to fighting games, talking about exactly what the difference is since both are hyper competitive games built around winning and losing, and why it’s absolutely possible to have fun going 3-0 in a fighting game compared to a MOBA.
We also talk a bit about the history of Pokemon Unite, particularly its ties to Pokken Tournament- a fighting game near and dear to Wan’s own heart. Kit also talks about her experiences with DOTA and… Guild Wars 2?
Really, we should have done the smart thing and rebranded this episode as some deep dive into competitive gaming. But it’s too late. That ship has sailed.
The Brave Room is GamerBraves own Podcast, hosted by “Wan” Amirul and Kit “PVP Overlord” Chew. It’s available on YouTube, Anchor and Spotify.
