It’s that time of week again, where your favorite hosts gather for yet another heart-pounding episode of the Brave Room.
This week, your lovely hosts take a look at Mobile games. Yeah, bizarre, I know. Almost like we’re some sort of mobile games site. But the dynamic duo talk specifically about mobile releases for already established IPs.
For some reason companies think a mobile probably-gacha game is *the* way to celebrate something like Full Metal Alchemists’ 20th anniversary. Meanwhile, they also make the same judgement call that fans of Blazblue, a popular fighting game, would want a watered-down Fate clone instead of a mobile fighting game, like, say, Skullgirls.
We give some shoutouts to other mobile titles too- namely the seemingly immortal Tensura IP, which moves from mobile game to mobile game, as well as the One Punch Man games. Wan also gives a special shoutout to the Gundam Break mobile game, which has the bizarre sin of being a vertical action game.
Was any insightful discussion had about the nature of mobile games? Probably not. Did two nerds name drop a bunch of the ones they played and their highly personalized reasons for disliking them? Yeah, sure.
The Brave Room is GamerBraves own podcast, hosted by “Wan” Amirul and Kit “Vertical mobile games are the best what are you talking about” Chew. It’s available on YouTube, Anchor and Spotify.
