This week, the Brave Room gets no hardware upgrades outside of a slightly better screen and a built-in etherenet port. That’s right, we get topical with a whole podcast dedicated to the Nintendo Switch OLED.
Wan’s position on the flak for the OLED is well-documented, thinking that a lot of it was caused by believing too many rumors about the fabled “Switch Pro”. Meanwhile, Kit’s just happy to not have to upgrade her Switch.
The gang also talk a bit about the Switch as a console in general- does it even need to compete with the PS5? Historically, it’s not like Nintendo has ever been neck-and-neck with other mainstream major gaming consoles, and maybe that’s how the Switch should be looked at, too.
As for the fabled mid-gen upgrade, it’s not like that’s ever been commonplace- outside of the New Nintendo 3DS, consoles like the Gameboy Advance SP didn’t exactly start packing terraflops on its predecessors.
So if you like hearing two people with no particular animosity for Nintendo dangle the WiiU over their heads, buckle up, this is a fun episode.
The Brave Room is GamerBraves own podcast, hosted by “Wan” Amirul and Kit “U” Chew. It’s available on YouTube, Anchor and Spotify.
