The upcoming movie for TenSura, or That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime, just has its release date announced earlier today. The film is titled Tensei Shitara Slime Datta Ken: Guren no Kizuna-hen, or That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime: Scarlet Bonds (this is not an official English translation).
Check out the trailer for the movie below:
The release date for the That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime movie is set to November later this year, where it’ll premiere in Japanese theatres. While there is no word of an English release for now, it’s extremely likely it’ll air outside the country considering the global popularity of the series.
The film’s story is not based on the light novel. Instead, the series’ author, Fuse, worked on an original scenario for the movie. It takes place after Rimuru’s evolution to Demon Lord.
Based on the trailer, a large focus of the film is on Benimaru and his long lost brother, Hiro, another survivor from the Ogre Village. Like Benimaru, Hiro has also evolved into a Kijin, but who named him and how he evolved remains unclear.
