According to the author’s note in the 19th volume of That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime light novel, the series is ending in 3 volumes. In it, Fuse, the author of That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime, expressed his plan to end the light novel series.
Volume 19 of the series was originally supposed to be released on October 29 earlier this year, but was postponed to the end of last month, November 30.
That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime first began as a web novel by Fuse that he uploaded on Shosetsuka ni Naro, a popular Japanese website for web novels. Fuse previously expressed that he might work on side stories once the main series ends. He is also currently writing original scenarios for That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime: ISEKAI Memories, the series’ mobile game.
The first season of the anime aired in 2018 and ran for 24 episodes. Season 2 of the series was divided into two cours, with 12 episodes airing in January 2021, and the remaining 12 episodes airing in July 2021. A spin-off anime, The Slime Diaries: That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime aired in April 2021, between the two cours of season 2.
Even though the That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime light novel might be ending soon, there is still a lot of content for the anime to adapt as season 2 only covered until volume 6. The series will also have an animated film coming out next year.
