Arc System Works has announced the release date for Under Night In-Birth II Sys:Celes, the latest entry in the Under Night series.
Announced on the Arc System Works TGS live stream, Under Night In-Birth II will release on January 25th, 2024 for PC, PS5, PS4 and Nintendo Switch.
The livestream also showed off more of Tsurugi and Kuon, alongside the recently announced Kaguya.
Under Night In-Birth II was first shown off at EVO this year, bringing a variety of new features like the implementation of rollback netcode as well as new moves for the entirety of the game’s cast of characters.
It also introduces a new tutorial, as well as a continuation of the game’s story mode from previous titles.
This is the second major fighting game release by developer French Bread in recent years, following the release of Melty Blood Type Lumina in 2021.
The Under Night series has had a niche but loyal following for the past 10 years, with many praising the game’s unique GRID and Vorpal universal mechanics that promote space control in the 2D fighter.
The game was also one of the four main crossovers for Blazblue Cross Tag Battle, the Arc System Works crossover fighter that also featured IPs like Blazblue, Persona 4 Arena and RWBY.
