Aniplex, the publishers of Fate/Grand Order, and developer Deskworks have announced a new mobile game called World II World at their Tokyo Game Show presentation.
Here is a full video of the showcase with an English translation. World II World is described as a single-player RPG that can be played at your own pace to enjoy the story.
Here is the premise described on the World II World official website:
Many worlds are now at risk.
Divisions bring discord between peoples
Leading to a slow demise.
The King of the Divide, Divan, wants it to happen.
Against it is Weave, the Girl on the Edge.
In the depths of loneliness, a girl is trying to give you a glimmer of hope.
The only sliver of hope left.
The story will involve traveling through the multiverse with a party of characters from across various different worlds that range from sci-fi to fantasy to wild west settings. The game will be split into episodic scenarios. The main story will change every week much like the latest episode of an ongoing anime.
In terms of gameplay, World II World is meant to be easy to pick up and play. It’s a unique title in that it involves controller two characters simultaneously in two different worlds.
The game involves holding the smartphone vertically with the screen split between the top and the bottom. The hosts of the showcase describe it as being like the Nintendo DS which had two screens. When one party battles on the top screen, the other party can continue to explore on the bottom screen.
The release period for the game is yet to be announced.
World II World will be available for mobile devices sometime in the near future. For more information on the game, check out its official website.
