Today in TGS 2019, Konami Group announced that they will be opening an esports complex within the “Konami Creative Center Ginza (hereafter “KCC GINZA”),” which is under construction as their new business base in Japan. KCC GINZA consists of studios for esports competition. The complex will also act as a school that aims to foster esports-related human resources and a hands-on-showroom.
The “esports GINZA studio” will be their studio that is targeted to host esports competitions. Konami will be making sure that their studios are all fully equipped with devices that best suited for live-streaming purposes. The studio also aims to be having the capability to do simultaneous video distribution in multiple languages and CG composition in live videos. With that said, this studio will not only be a esports studio but have multiple other applications such as music and theater as well.
“esports GINZA school” will be trying to recruit a diverse array of professionals to further improve their structures within the development of esports. These are the roles Konami will be focusing on:
- Players
- Live commentators
- Management
- Operating staff for competitions
The “esports GINZA store” will be a a shop that offers all their esports-related products such as gaming PCs and peripherals. Konami also aims to enhance the experiences of store visitors in terms of attracting them towards esports.
Other than KCC GINZA, Konami also announced that their Amusement department where the company group that usually focus on design, production and sales of amusement machines, will now join the selling and producing part for gaming PC and peripherals. Konami will promise that their Amusement department will produce the highest quality gaming products for athletes based on their experience and practical know-how obtained from amusement machines products and designs.
Konami is currently scheduled to open their esports complex in early 2020.
