At TGS 2019, we got to fight against Rajang in Monster Hunter World: Iceborne! The beast won’t be in the game proper until 10 October, so check out our gameplay!
As one would expect, Rajang still packs many of its signature attacks. Remember how you used to dodge those mouth lasers? You’ll have to do that again. Rajang is also capable of a body slam attack that will shake the very ground you’re on. Players will find their hunters shaky on their feet, rendering them unable to attack.
Of course, you’ll have to watch out for Rajang’s Rage Mode. Once its body turns gold, its attack speed and damage will increase! You’ll be able to latch onto Rajang, see if you can stay on when it’s enraged!
Rajang’s weakness has typically been ice. We don’t know if that remains true here. However, it is pretty ironic that it makes an appearance in an ice-themed expansion!
Rajang feels easier when compared to other titles, but it doesn’t mean it’s lost its punch! Rajang’s attack hitboxes may have been reduced, so you’ll have a fairer fight against this beast. You’ll still need to get out of its way or it’ll have you as its next meal. Watch out for its speed, and armored arm when it goes into Rage Mode!
See if you can cook up some strategies before you get into the real fight. Look forward to it!
