Seasun Games, developers of Snowbreak: Containment Zone have unveiled Mecha BREAK, an upcoming multiplayer mech game for PS5.
Featuring customizable mechs and a variety of different playstyles, it’s not quite clear how the multiplayer for the game works- the trailer looks like it will have arena shooter elements, but also teases large bossfights.
Seasun have also not given a release date for the title.
That being said, Mecha BREAK looks to be going after hard core mecha fans- the trailer represents a variety of different mech types, from transforming ones that turn into turrets, to more agile snipers to even the obligatory booster-pack mech for soaring through the sky.
It even sports extremely quick dodging, as well as melee combat on top of its guns for anyone eager to pilot a giant war machine.
Speaking of weapons, mecha fans won’t be found wanting with the weapon types, which run the gamut of everything from conventional ballistic weaponry to beam sabers and rifles, to even autonomous bits for chasing down targets, similar to Funnels in Mobile Suit Gundam.
It looks like there’ll even be some form of Purge system- the teaser shows one of the mechs seemingly casting off its accessories to charge in against the boss with a beam saber.
Mecha fans have been eating good in recent years- strategy fans have gotten titles like Relayer and Super Robot Wars 30 while action fans have gotten titles like Armored Core VI which won Best Action Game at The Game Awards 2023.
