Just like how Apex Legends was initially announced back in 2019, the community is once again surprised with the recently announced FFVII Rebirth collaboration.

The collaboration reveal was made during The Game Awards 2023 when a trailer showed off Apex Legends’ hacker and encryption expert Crypto holding up the iconic Buster Sword instead of his Biwon Blade, which could potentially suggest that Heirloom weapons would now have skins.
This surprising collaboration starting from 9th January 2024 will be bringing in special hero skins for Crypto, Horizon, and Wraith, who will be dressed up some of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth’s most beloved characters.
From the trailer, Crypto will be getting a Cloud skin, Horizon getting an Aerith skin, while Wraith’s collaboration skin looks like a mixture between Tifa and Vincent Valentine.
As of time of writing, not much as been announced for the Apex Legends and Final Fantasy VII Rebirth collaboration aside from the hero skins along with the release date.
This would not be the first time that Apex Legends had announced some of the more unconventional collaborations, an example being the previous Post Malone collaboration which added a new game mode as well as cosmetic designs by the rapper and singer himself.
