From Software has announced Armored Core VI: The Fires of Rubicon, releasing some time in 2023.
Announced during The Game Awards, this marks the first new title in the Armored Core IP since 2012’s Armored Core V and will be releasing on PS5, Xbox Series X, their past-gen counterparts as well as PC via Steam.
There’d been a lot of rumors circulating around the development of Armored Core VI, especially after leaks earlier this year of a potential focus test for the title.
The trailer itself should be a sight for sore eyes for any Armored Core fan, featuring the series iconic mechs and lots of violent action to celebrate the series 25th anniversary.
Many fans have taken to Twitter to celebrate the return of Armored Core, especially following sentiment that From Software had abandoned the IP following the success of the Souls series.
“PLEASE BE LIKE FOR ANSWER I AM CRYING AND LITERALLY PUNCHING THE AIR FLAILING AND FOAMING AT THE MOUTH ALLFOEOQPPXPCLFLW” tweets Vshojo Vtuber Zentreya.
Some had even taken to sharing traditional knowledge- such as the bizarre recommended grip style for playing the obtuse mech game.

In the 9 years since the last Amored Core title, we’d even seen spiritual successors to the mech series- such as Daemon Ex Machina, which featured developers who’d originally worked on Armored Core.
