The livestream will be held on The Game Awards website November 18th, 9am PT (November 19th, 1am for Malaysians).
While the shortlist of nominees hasn’t been announced, that hasn’t stopped fans from speculating in the replies for the tweet.
The Last of Us II and Animal Crossing are both popular mentions in the comments, due to the former’s popularity as a lockdown game and the latter’s marketing push to describe it as nothing less than a masterpiece.
GamerBraves has also been selected to be one of the jury for the upcoming awards, hence our lack of comment on the likelihood for any particular nominations.
The Game Awards is a prestigious awards show hosted by Geoff Keighley. While it has strong industry ties, it’s not been shy from taking its own stance, such as when the awards show called out Konami for their barring of Hideo Kojima.
Aside from being an Awards show, it also has various musical performances, such as when Mick Gordon performed a medley of the DOOM 2016 soundtrack live on stage.
Last year’s TGA 2019 also drew a lot of attention when it had a skit performed by the muppets Beaker and Bunsen as a tie-in for the Untitled Goose Game, which also won an award last year.
