Tencent registers domain for Granblue Fantasy

It appears that Tencent has registered a domain related to Granblue Fantasy, according to this weibo post. The registration was supposedly done on 18 November 2021 for the domain “izhuye.碧蓝幻想.com”, which at time of writing, will redirect you to Tencent’s home page. The pertinent part is “碧蓝幻想”, which indicates Granblue Fantasy.

Whatever it is, it’s apparently big enough for Tencent to want to register a Granblue domain, though obviously, the lack of information makes it hard to begin to guess what it could be. Considering the various tough regulations in place or views held by the powers that be with regards to gaming in China, could this be an official Chinese server that the government could regulate? There isn’t an official Chinese language localization either, making this another opportunity.

Granblue Fantasy Fes 2021 will be in two weeks, so we could see if anything to this effect will be announced at the event.
