Japanese TV broadcaster TBS has announced the release date of the live action adaptation of manga series – Teasing Master Takagi-san.
The live-action series of Teasing Master Takagi-san will be streamed worldwide on 26th March 2024, with viewers being able to watch it on Netflix.
Rui Tsukishima who is an exclusive model for Shueisha’s Seventeen magazine, will be playing the role of Takagi, while Soya Kurokawa who recently played a role in Hirokazu Koreeda’s Monster, will be starring as Nishikata.
The Teasing Master Takagi-san live-action series was shot entirely on Shodoshima Island in Kagawa Prefecture, which is also the main setting of the original source material.
Additionally, the manga will also be getting a live-action movie which tells an original story set 10 years after the manga’s original middle school setting.
As of time of writing, the movie will premiere exclusively in Japan on 31st May 2024, with no international release mentioned.
Rikiya Imaizumi, who is best known for directing the live-action of Hozuki-san Chi no Aneki, will be directing both the live-action series as well as the movie adaptation.
As with the live-action series, Tomoki Kanazama and Jun Hagimori joined by Imaizumi will be co-writing the script; while Takashi Ohmama will be working on composing the music.
