Sky: Children of the Light teases its upcoming Season of Dreams for January 2021. Developer thatgamecompany talks about the Season of Prophecy as one of their most ambitious seasons yet, with an origin story, gameplay challenges, ancestors and cosmetics all packed into one in order to refresh what a season should entail in regards to emotions, narrative and visuals.
In the Season of Dreams, Sky players will visit a humble village under the ice-capped mountains in the Valley of Triumph. “An inspiring story with a big heart” is being planned, with you following the tale of a young skater aspiring to perform in the grand coliseum. Explore the village, which is designed to encourage social play, friendly competition or just for breathtaking views. Fine-tuning is currently in the works, but you can watch the teaser video below.
Season of Dreams will be available to pre-order at 12:00 noon PST UTC -8 on 15 December. This season is meant to explore certain themes:
2020 has been an incredibly tough year for all of us. We have looked to help our local neighbors and international communities in times of need. It is in our human nature to unite through altruism and overcome obstacles together that land our way. That is what makes the human spirit great!
For some – 2020 has been about being grateful for what we have and holding those dear to us. For others – it has been a time of transformation and realizing our life’s purpose. The ‘Season of Dreams’ explores such themes, as we all look towards our personal dreams for the new year.
