NetEase has just announced Tank Company, its new tank-based 15 versus 15 MMO for the Android and iOS platforms. As part of the announcement, the open beta for the game has gone live as well.
Not unlike World of Tanks, Tank Company has you assuming the role of a tank commander who is granted access to five types of military vehicles, which will of course include tanks, as well as self-propelled guns. Armed with your hardware of choice, you will do battle on a massive 1,000m x 1,000m map.
As one might come to expect, there are numerous ways you can customise your tanks to suit and enhance your style of play. You can opt to either focus on offence, defence or a mix of both. For the time being, the open beta is only available to Android users, with no word as to when it will come out for the iOS. The website has gone live so be sure to drop by for the latest information and details. NetEase did not disclose as to when it will be ending the open beta, but you may want to get onboard early anyway. While you will not be able to retain progress, all participants will be rewarded with stuff for having tried the game once it goes live.
