The developer, best known for Hi-Fi Rush, has been officially rebranded as Tango Gameworks Inc., a new chapter that secures the studio’s future and promises exciting prospects ahead.

This rebirth comes after Tango was on the brink of closure in 2024 when Microsoft’s move to cut ties with the studio left its future uncertain. However, KRAFTON, the powerhouse behind PUBG, swooped in and salvaged Tango, ensuring that their beloved Hi-Fi Rush IP, among others, would continue to thrive.

The acquisition not only guarantees the studio’s survival but also offers a path for continued growth. While Tango’s earlier works, such as The Evil Within and Ghostwire: Tokyo, won’t be part of the deal, KRAFTON’s support allows the team to focus on expanding Hi-Fi Rush and developing new projects.

According to a GamesIndustry.biz interview with the studio’s head of corporate development, Maria Park, teased some exciting plans for Hi-Fi Rush 2, saying that the sequel, which was already in development before the acquisition, is being carefully crafted to meet fans’ expectations. The team aims to enhance the dynamic environments of the original game, moving away from the factory-like feel and incorporating more advanced technology into the rhythm-based action.

In addition to Hi-Fi Rush 2, Tango Gameworks might also expand the original game with new DLCs. A Nintendo Switch release is being considered, which could broaden the game’s accessibility to even more players. As the studio re-establishes itself, fans can look forward to the creative potential unleashed by KRAFTON’s support.
