TalesWeaver: Second Run has been officially announced after its associated trademarks surfaced last year. The Japanese release is planned to launch sometime 2022, establishing an official website and official social accounts. Additionally, TalesWeaver: Second Run will also be conducting an “advanced play” session, so a beta test.
This is a mobile title based on the original TalesWeaver on PC, a work that’s 18 years old as of 2022. Expect the usual promises of added and / or improved battle elements, stories, visuals and sound effects, to be enjoyed by both veteran fans and newcomers alike.
From the previews available through 4gamer, it looks like a vertical play game with co-op elements that seem somewhat reminiscent of Granblue Fantasy‘s system. 20,000 players – 10,000 each for Android and iOS – will be able to participate in the beta. Recommended specifications are simply listed as “Galaxy S8 or later / Android OS 7.0” for Android, and “iPhone 8 or later / iOS 11.0 or higher” for iOS. Applications are open until 20 July 2022, 23:59 JST, while the testing period is scheduled for 25 July 2022, 14:00 JST to 1 August 2022, 10:00 JST.
You can sign up for the advanced play session through the official website, while you can stay up to date through the official Twitter account here. Unfortunately, a global release does not appear to be mentioned, so stay tuned for that.
