After some more silence and delaying initial plans to release the game for the franchise’s 25th anniversary, Tales of Arise has risen to give us a new trailer and gameplay preview via Famitsu. A couple new characters have been previewed, but most importantly, the game is slated for release on 9 September 2021, available on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X | S, and PC via Steam. Ufotable will continue to be doing the animated scenes for the game, supposedly to be “one of the longest in the history of the series”. The PS5 and Xbox Series X | S versions will have 60 FPS Performance Mode and Graphic Priority Mode (4K) much like FF7R‘s Retrograde version, with the PC version looking to have these options as well.
You can watch the trailer and the gameplay preview below:
The new characters are Linwell (Hara Sayuri) and Lowe (Matsuoka Yoshitsugu). There’s also the mascot character who does not have a credited voice.
Well, we’ve got five more months. What’s a little more waiting? A preview of the limited edition release for the PS5 was also previewed:
