Bandai Namco Entertainment has unveiled a story follow-up to the action RPG Tales of Arise in the form of downloadable content (DLC) titled “Before the Dawn”, 2 years after the game’s initial release.
As revealed during Sony Interactive Entertainment’s most recent State of Play, Tales of Arise will be receiving the story-based DLC, Before the Dawn on 9 November 2023 for the PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Windows PC.
The Beyond the Dawn DLC will be adding story content that takes place after the events of Tales of Arise’s base game.
Taking place a year after the war between Dahna and Rena, the Beyond the Dawn DLC will follow Alphen and his allies, Shionne, Kisara, Rinwell, and others once again as they meet with newcomer Nazamil.
There are many secrets behind the new character Nazamil as she seems to have both Dahnan and Renan blood in her and is the daughter of a lord who appeared in the main game.
Later in the trailer, the new unassuming character Nazamil is also seen donning what looks like a fragment of the mask Alphen once wore in the main game.
In a PlayStation blog post, the general producer at Bandai Namco, Yusuke Tomizawa said, “Since the release of Arise, we have received many requests from people who have enjoyed the main story for a continuation of the story and the development team has had in-depth discussions and deliberations on what kind of significance and appeal would be necessary if we were to seriously go beyond the original story.”
“It was also a way for us to reflect on what Arise was for us.”
Tales of Arise: Beyond the Dawn will arrive on the PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Windows PC on 9 November 2023.
