Taiwanese horror game “Detention” is coming to mobile

Detention or as in literal Chinese translation returning to school, is a survival horror platformer game developed by Red Candle Game that released in STEAM. Detention has won for the IndieCade 2017 award-winning title. Now this Taiwanese horror game is creeping into mobile platform.

Detention offers a unique 2D side-scroller atmospheric horror game heavily influenced by Taiwanese/ East Asian culture based on the 1960s Taiwan under martial law. You navigate the protagonist in a classic point and click fashion to explore in a high school. Slowly unraveling deep secrets within the game in a graphics and sound inspired by Taiwanese literature, film and music in the 1960s-1970s. With the combination of survival and puzzle mechanism of 2D horror adventure, it is surely a game you don’t want to miss.

The game is now available in iOS and Android. Detention in the App Store offers the game in full price of RM 16.90 or USD 3.99. Meanwhile, in the Google Play store, the game is available for free to play but the full version of the game will cost the same as iOS. The game fully support English,Chinese, Japanese and Korean languages.

Set in 1960s Taiwan of the White Terror period, students Wei and Ray find themselves trapped and vulnerable in Greenwood High School (翠華中學) which is located in a remote mountainous area. The place they once knew has changed in unsettling ways, haunted by evil creatures known as the "lingered" (魍魎). While hiding from the rampaging monsters, the protagonists unveil mysteries which slowly reveal the dark past of the cursed school.
