The new dates for Taipei Game Show 2020 have been announced! As you might see from our feature image, the dates are now:
- B2B Zone: 25 – 26 June
- B2C Zone: 25 – 28 June
The event had been delayed due to the coronavirus scare, as per their previous update regarding the postponement according to their Facebook post which you can read in its entirety below:
【Emergency Announcement: TGS 2020 Postponed】
W.H.O. has declared global emergency as Wuhan coronavirus spreads. Considering mass gatherings like Taipei Game Show increase the chance of cluster infections, we have decided to postpone 2020 Taipei Game Show to this summer. The location remains unchanged at Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center, Hall 1. The specific time and date will be announced in the upcoming days by the organizing committee.
The committee did originally plan to have the event go ahead, with advice and certain changes to the schedule to ensure the health and safety of attendees. The pertinent points can be seen in a much earlier Facebook post:
All visitors are obliged to wear masks upon arriving at the venue, and to cooperate with our staff at all entrances with body temperature checks and hands disinfections. Visitors without masks will be prohibited from entering the venue. Visitors detected with body temperature over 37.5°C will be prohibited from entering the venue and requested to seek medical attention immediately. International visitors who have entered Taiwan from Mainland China within 14 days will be prohibited from entering the venue as well.
All of the public areas, elevators and public restrooms in TaiNEX Hall 1 will be enforced with intense cleanings and disinfections by the organizing committee.
… among other notices. At any rate, by June, the worst of the health scare would hopefully have passed. It’s time to check your calendars and adjust these to dates for Taipei Game Show 2020!
