Bander Namco Entertainment has announced that Taiko no Tatsujin The Drum Master will be released today on 27 January 2022 for Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC. This would be the first title in the Taiko series to be released on an Xbox console and will be supported on Xbox Game Pass.
A trailer introducing the game contents has also been released, check it out below:
“With over 70 songs to choose from, you’ll never stop drumming with Don and Ka. What’s more, you can now play with your friends in local multiplayer mode and online ranked matches too!”
Taiko no Tatsujin is a series of rhythm games where the player uses a peripheral Japanese Taiko Drum to play along to a song. If you’re downloading the game from Game Pass, you likely won’t have access to the drum accessory but the game can still be played with a regular controller.
The game includes a wide range of music from popular J-pop songs and anime themes. some of the songs highlighted in the trailer for Taiko no Tatsujin The Drum Master include the Neon Genesis Evangelion opening ‘A Cruel Angels Thesis’, and Meglovania from Undertale.
Bandi Namco has also said they are planning to distribute additional songs as Paid DLC. More information will be released in due time.
