Sword Art Online Alicization Lycoris out on Switch

Bandai Namco Entertainment Asia has just announced the release of Sword Art Online Alicization Lycoris on the Nintendo Switch.

Previously out on other platforms, the release of the game on the Nintendo Switch will be including the main game along with the Ancient Apostle series #1 to #4, which were also previously released as free updates.

What is Sword Art Online Alicization Lycoris?

For the unaware, Sword Art Online is an animated series which is adapted from the light novel series written by Reki Kawahara. The story revolves around the main character Kirito, who goes on an adventure in both the virtual world set in the next generation online game called Sword Art Online, as well as in the real world.

Alicization is a story arc from the light novel and anime series which is set in a virtual world that is commonly known as the “Underworld” which is also the setting of this RPG title.

Sword Art Online Alicization Lycoris is a faithful recreation of the story of Alicization up until the final battle against the Administrator who was the main boss in the first half the the story arc.

After the battle against the Administrator, the game then branches out from the adaptation by telling its own story.

Play as Kirito and go on and experience a new adventure along with Kirito’s allies as you get to meet whole new characters that have never been introduced in both the novels and anime.

Players also get to build their own party of four and utilise the game’s sword skills mechanic to battle against foes to achieve victory in Sword Art Online Alicization Lycoris.
