Super Robot Wars has broken the Guinness World Record for most IPs in a single RPG, after the announcement trailer for Super Robot Wars showed off its full roster of participating IPs.
To celebrate, Bandai Namco Entertainment’s Facebook page is giving out commemorative coins, via an online giveaway. The coin comes engraved with the Super Robot Wars 30 logo on one side, celebrating the series 30th anniversary. On the other side is an inscription, celebrating the Guinness World Record awarded to Super Robot Wars 30.
Super Robot Wars has always been a series for extravagant crossovers- previous entries have included characters from across the mecha genre, including Neon Genesis Evangelion and Gurren Lagann. While some of the franchises rotated in and out between titles, others, like the Gundam series, have stayed in every game, giving mecha fans plenty to look forward to with all their favorite cross-IP characters interacting in the game’s story.
Super Robot Wars 30 looks to be the most ambitious title in the series yet, with its huge roster containing newer IPs like SSSS.Gridman and Knight’s And Magic, as well as older IPs like Gun X Sword and Mazinger Z. Unlike previous titles, 30 is also formally being released in the west on PC, releasing simultaneously with the other version on October 28th.
