Universal Studios Japan has given us a first look at the upcoming Super Nintendo World attraction. The park’s grand opening is set for February 4th, 2021.
In a Facebook post, Universal Studios Japan put out a video showing off some of the sights planned for the park. It should be noted that a lot of it looks like CG renders, and the actual attractions may look slightly different.
The park will feature interactive rides, such as the Mario Kart Koopa’s Challenge. The video describes it as “The world’s first interactive Mario Kart ride”, but did not elaborate on the nature of the integration.
The park will also be full of iconic Mario characters, with Yoshi-themed trains, as well as the iconic Smash character Piranha Plant scattered around the park.
There’s also Bowser’s castle, complete with a statue of the King Koopa himself. Behind it is a trophy for Mario Kart, meaning it’s probably located at the same location as the Mario Kart ride.
We also got a glimpse at what’s presumably the Mario Kart ride, which appears to be some type of roller coaster. Groups of two will sit in Mario Kart-styled cars, in a room full of gears and Warp Pipes.
We can probably expect more details about the park closer to its launch.,
