The sequel to underwater survival game Subnautica is finally leaving early access. Subnautica: Below Zero will release on 14th May 2021. The game will be out for PS4, Xbox One and Switch. It is also available on PC and Mac via Steam and Epic Games Store. Check out the trailer for the game here:
With the success garnered by Subnautica, Unknown Worlds Entertainment released Subnautica: Below Zero on Steam Early Access in January 2019. Below Zero largely follows the same format as the first game, but features an icy map on the same alien planet. The game features a new protagonist, new equipment and never before seen life forms.
Unfortunately, Below Zero does not have an official VR release like the first game. Currently, the sequel is still playable on VR through mods. However, it is unknown whether the game will ever support VR gameplay.
For owners of the Nintendo Switch, those interested in the game will be pleased to know that both Subnautica and Subnautica: Below Zero are available physically in a bundle.
