Street Fighter V Introduces Luke as its Final Character

In the Street Fighter V summer update, a brand new fighter, Luke was released as the final character for Street Fighter V’s season 5 pass and likely the last character in for the game altogether.

So far we don’t know a lot about Luke. Based on the trailer, it appears that he is an MMA fighter of some sort but Capcom hasn’t revealed where he comes from or what role he’ll play in Street Fighter’s lore. Street Fighter V director Takayuki Nakayama however has said that Luke provides “a glimpse into the future” of the franchise, implying that he’ll be of greater importance at some point.

Luke will be released in November, following Capcom’s previously announced DLC plans. He will have three costumes and a story prologue.

His release will come following the release of Akira and Goro next week, finishing the Street Fighter V Season 5 Pass. It has been confirmed that this will be the last season of the game, meaning that Luke will be the last character.

While ending with a newcomer as opposed to an old favourite may be disappointing for some, Luke seems like he’ll be a fun character to get into the ring with as Street Fighter V enters its final fights.
