The team behind Street Fighter: Duel has announced a Street Fighter: Duel Monster Hunter collaboration, bringing another popular Capcom franchise into the China-exclusive mobile game.
The event is available starting today and sees the addition of a new S-Fighter, as well as an event quest based around an iconic Monster Hunter creature.
According to Chinese website Jieba, the event sees the addition of Gore Magala to the Street Fighter game, though not in the way you’d expect. Although Street Fighter has had a colorful cast of characters in its history, they’ve all been humanoid at best, so the six-limbed Elder Dragon would be a bit of a stretch, even for a mobile game.
Instead, the game will see the addition of a new S-Fighter, “Black Eclipse Dragon Ken”. This special Ken variant comes decked out in Gore Magala’s armor set, complete with a Greatsword based on the monster.
Black Eclipse Ken will be available to pull for a limited time in the Street Fighter: Duel Monster Hunter event, and the game will also be adding a special event quest titled Black Eclipse Dragon Hunting.
Gore Magala is the face of Monster Hunter 4, even appearing on the cover of english copies of its re-release 4 Ultimate. It’s generally held in a position of high esteem by fans, who also voted for it to return to Monster Hunter Rise and even features in the Monster Hunter movie.
