Launched in China on 26 November is a new Street Fighter mobile game, in Street Fighter: Duel. It is an officially licensed title from Capcom and published by Tencent Games. Check out a trailer for the game below!
As you can see from the trailer, Jay Chou, Taiwanese singer and songwriter, is featured in the game. He himself is available as a unit in Street Fighter: Duel. From the in-game lore, Jay Chou’s in-game representation has honed his skills through many years of hard training, utilizing a unique blend of music and martial arts to create his own style of battle. This is represented in the skills he brings, each with their own characteristics and effects.
If you want to get Jay Chou’s character, you’ll need to participate in the various activities on the official website wherein you invite friends to obtain a special clue item. Collecting five of these clues will grant you the character in the game.
It’s yet another presently China-exclusive game, so who knows how long it’ll take before it gets exported out of the country. It certainly looks to be a more accessible and, shall we say, casual title, to get people more interested in the franchise. Having Jay Chou doesn’t hurt your chances either, wouldn’t you say?
