Capcom has announced a collaboration between Street Fighter 6 and the popular anime Spy X Family, promising new “Collab items” on January 9th 2024.
A new animated trailer shows Yor Forger duking it out with Chun Li, animated by Spy X Family production house WIT Studio.
“To celebrate the upcoming release of the movie SPY×FAMILY CODE: White, we are gearing up for a collaboration with Street Fighter 6!”, the trailer’s description reads. “A special showdown animation short depicting a fight scene between featuring Yor and Chun-Li was released today, prior to the in-game activities coming in the near future. Look out for the collaboration in Street Fighter 6 coming soon!”
This is technically the second part of what appears to be an ongoing collab with the popular anime- the first part featured a special illustration ahead of the release of the game earlier this year.
While details are still incredibly sparse on what the Spy X Family Street Fighter collaboration could be, the game’s collaborations tend to focus more on World Tour mode and player avatars- with costumes being saved for your custom character rather than any of the playable cast.
These include things like the Chipotle backpack, as well as pre-made characters made to look like Baki The Grappler, as well as the TMNT costumes.
