Celebrating its 20th Anniversary, Capcom has announced that Monster Hunter will be collaborating with the popular fighting game, Street Fighter 6.
The announcement was made during the Monster Hunter 20th Anniversary Special Program.
In the trailer, we can hear the iconic Seliana Gathering Hub Theme from Monster Hunter World: Iceborne playing in the background. We also see a dude donning the Rathalos Alpha Armor, carrying the Jawblade Great Sword.
As the trailer has shown, this outfit is seemingly for the player avatar in the Battle Hub, as it shows the gameplay of players using it for battle in the mode.
Furthermore, the trailer also shows that Monster Hunter-themed decorations will be displayed throughout the Battle Hub, with even a statue depicting Rathalos and Rathian fighting against Palicos.
It’s worth noting that this is not the first time the two series have collaborated. Back in 2018, Street Fighter V also collaborated with Monster Hunter: World, with some of the characters in the game receiving skins based on Monster Hunter, such as Blanka as Nergigante, Ibuki in Kirin Armor, and Ken in Rathalos Armor.
While no character-specific skins have been shown in the trailer, the specific details of what is included with the collaboration have not been revealed, so fans can still look forward to potential skin releases for our iconic fighting game characters.
According to the announcement, the collaboration will be underway in April. With the recent teaser trailer of Akuma being announced, one can speculate if the character will be added alongside the collaboration.
