The world of fighting games is ablaze with hype as the newest entry in the Street Fighter series, Street Fighter 6, has been announced. The announcement was made at the end of Capcom Cup 2022, marking the end of Street Fighter V‘s final competitive season.
Check out the teaser trailer uploaded on the Street Fighter YouTube channel below:
The trailer features series’ poster boy Ryu, now possessing a beard ala Kratos from God of War (2018), about to throw hands with newcomer Luke, the latest character to join the franchise, having just debuted in the final season pass for Street Fighter VI. As Luke winds up his punch, the trailer cuts to the game’s logo just as he was about to throw it.
According to the video’s YouTube description, the game is currently in development. More news will be revealed in summer later this year. Beyond that, not much is known about the game.
This is just speculation, but it may be possible that Street Fighter 6 will be released near the third or fourth quarter of the year.
Besides announcing Street Fighter 6, Capcom also announced Capcom Fighting Collection, a collection of 10 classic fighting games that come newly added Rollback Netcode.
