A few days after a demo for Stellar Blade was accidentally released, players are now getting obsessed over the ‘physics’ of EVE’s body, the protagonist of the game.
If you have been on X/Twitter recently, you will realize that Stellar Blade has seemingly gotten trending in the past few hours, with the number of posts getting higher as time passes.
For comparison, here is the difference in numbers on 13th March, from 11 am and 4 pm respectively.
Now what could be the cause of this? What is with the sudden popularity of Stellar Blade? The answer lies in the ‘physics’ that the game presents.

As the video starts to get viral, there are even players starting to claim that EVE is starting to rival Tifa in popularity. And while this might be slightly exaggerated, the current trend does seem to lean towards that speculation.
Some of the most popular gaming characters in the world now are Tifa from Final Fantasy and Eve from Stellar Blade! 🔥 pic.twitter.com/O7oedO6JyA

Many players were also happy that such character designs are back, stating that female characters with such designs have been suppressed in modern video games and that they are glad to see a return to form.
I knew Jiggle Physics was in the game, but I didn’t think it would be God-tier. Some people need to understand why gamers are making a big deal about EVE and what she represents in gaming. She represents what gaming used to be in terms of character design and sex appeal. It has… https://t.co/zAGzAYQlt4

Now, it is no secret that Stellar Blade has put a huge emphasis on making sure the main character is as pleasing to look at as possible. To quote Stellar Blade director Hyung-Tae Kim in an interview:
“When it comes to the design, we put special attention on the back of the character because the player is always facing the back of the character when they’re playing. That’s what they see the most of, so we thought this was pretty important.”
Of course, we have had similar designs in the past with other games, with notable examples being Bayonetta and 2B, which were sexualized similarly. As those games have shown us, however, these factors do not necessarily harm the narrative of the game itself, but they just act as some additional fanservice for players.
It is still worth noting that Stellar Blade has been given an 18+ rating in South Korea and rated M by ESRB for ‘nudity’ and excessive violence. And since the developers of Stellar Blade are the same ones behind Goddess of Victory: NIKKE and Destiny Child, which both are also known for scantily clad character designs, the game having such ‘top-tier ‘physics should not be surprising.
